Early Halloween Party

Some great friends of ours have an annual Halloween Party. I have posted about it before. In the past Ward and I have gone as a pair but this year we went on our own. I was Mrs. Brad Pitt and Ward was Brett Farve. I tied a bunch a babies around a rope and dragged them around for the night and he sold Packers plays. As always it was a fun party. I am not sure blonds have more fun. I enjoyed the black wig and blue contacts. And kudos to Chanel, my red lipstick stayed on the entire night a must for anyone playing Jolie.  Although I look a little sadistic....

Cruelness

Ward loves to feed Tru ice cream. While he looks like he hates it - he will come up out of his chair to get to the spoon if you don't get it to his mouth fast enough.

Johnny AppleSeed Let us Climb Your Tree

One of the perks of living in NC is all of the apple orchards we have within an hour. On Friday we decided to take a trip to Sky Top Orchard. with our friends Jack and Apple. We missed their big sis Ali but the kids had a blast. They climbed trees, tried to eat apples off the ground (some rotten some not). They had the absolute BEST apple doughnuts - those made the drive worth it!! We played in the groves, enjoyed the playground and then headed to Hendersonville to a little malt shop. The first melt down did not occur until we hit the malt shop for dinner. Then like clock work we all had mini melt downs. Beth and I included hehe! Parade - did i mention the parade? How I hate i left my camera in the car - We were treated to a parade of 100 men walking through downtown Main street in 4 inch red high heels. It was a fundraiser - Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. It was over the top funny. We are home now and enjoying the fruits of our labor.

A Shower of Gifts

Recently (September) I participated in an online Swap. Thanks to Wendi of Because Wendi Said So. It was my first swap. Pretty simple - swap your favorite things. I had the best swap partner. Wendy at a View From The Grove - you have to look at her blog - the scenery is amazing.... Anyway. Wendy is from Utah. Ward wants to know if we could swap houses for a week. (Must be many fly-fishing locations in Utah!) The boys had as much fun as I had opening the package.
Wendy my swappie (is that a word?) Sent me 5 of her favorite things based on the 5 senses.

Sound - the Mama Mia sounds track. I have not seen the movie - she says it is a must. I have seen the Broadway play and was dancing in the aisle. But what is best about this gift is the memories it brings me. I grew up with a mother who loved music. And ABBA was one of her favorites. My best memories are of us singing at the top of our lungs Dancing Queen. I am sure she would be happy to know that my boys and I are now singing it at the top f our lungs.

Smell- amazing hand soaps from Bath and Body and in honor of the fall yummy Pumpkin scents. My boys love it. They can't wait to wash their hands. I have a bottle all my own in my bathroom.

Taste - Sees chocolates - ohhhh - yummy yummy.

Sight - A great book to read - one I have not read before. I love to read and can't wait to start this one.

Touch - the most beautiful handmade notecards. They are so nice, I think I would rather frame them than mail them. Maybe I will frame some and use the others - I should share with others.

BUT most of all the items were wrapped perfectly. It was such a pleasure to share with someone so far way a little of their life.

Thank you so much Wendy and let me know about the house swap! hehe

Bring out the Package

Great practice for Christmas

Would you try for a girl when you are queen of your house?
Well not me....my heart and my house is full.

St Louis Baby

So in an effort for my boys to see some family members we decided to fly to St Louis.

While most of my family lives in Springfield that would be a two leg flight for me, and being the smart cookie I am I thought - Ok one flight I can handle - 2 maybe not ssss' much.

So the cousins and my Aunt agreed to make the drive down and meet me at the airport to help with the rental van, luggage, and the 3 boys.

The morning of the flight all is well, I did my usual friday am routine - boys to school, Tru with the sitter off to Palates, quick run to Target for last minute must haves...Pick up from school, meet hubby at home to take us to airport.

Tried to check in via the web (something I love about US Air) but no can do I am flying with a "Lap Infant" - poor Tru his first flight and he is labeled a "Lap Infant". So I muddle through the check in to the check in clerk - I will refrain from saying what I really thought of her but I do hope she was having a bad day and that was the explanation for her comment "What possessed you to fly alone with 3 small children" She had no humor even with my reply of "a bottle of wine'...

Needless to say we made it thru the TSA security screening process - so it took me a little while longer with 3 kids, 2 boaster seats, an infant car seat/stroller, 2 backpacks, a diaper bag, and a purse.

Oh yes and my diaper bag a make sift diaper bag that said "Orgasms are like children the more you have the more you want" Ok so I did not read that until we were sitting at the zoo. Who knew?? To me it was a bag that had a bunch of sayings on it that I got free when I purchased some workout clothing.

More on the trip later.

Lucky Number 7

If I was a Lottery kinda gal I would go put all my money on number 7!

Truman's 9 month check up was full of SEVENS!!

He is 17 pounds
He is 27.7 inches long.
His temp was 97.7 degrees
His 7th tooth was breaking thru
It was his 7th visit to the doctor
We were in room number 7

- the funny thing was once we noticed a few things included the number 7 the Doc and I started looking around at the other things hence the 7th visit - room number 7...... very strange indeed. His head measurement also included a 7 but being the 3rd child I did not write it down and now have forgotten the exact measurement.

At any rate - Truman at 9 months.
In honor of our Sevens:

Seven things about my snuggle bunny:

He talks all the time
Loves to follow Gage
Is very attached to Mommy
Took his first airplane ride and was amazing
Is bigger than both his brothers were at this point
Likes to stand
Actually likes to eat food -Loves mashed potatoes, chicken and ice cream

Ice Cream Truck

She ignored our 'hood all summer and then for some reason as fall approaches she finds us, deems us worthy and now will not stop coming thru. But the boys love to run to the street and wait and wait.... and wait some more because honestly you can hear the music from miles away.

Theses were too sticky and sweet not to share. My middle one has fallen in love with the teenage mutant ninja turtle Popsicles What is not to love - they have gum ball eyes and are made of lime sherbet!

A summer treat, even if summer is on its way out.

Missing the Blog

It really puts a damper on blogging when you have lost the cord to your camera to download pictures. I have a ton to post and no time. But I really want to include my post on the "Favorite Things Swap" I did. It was so much fun. Thanks to Wendi! I loved my swap partner. Stay tuned for that fun post and then a little post on my recent trip to St Louis - when I lost my mind and decided to fly with 3 little boys under the age of 6.... Who turned out to be little angels (at least on the plane)!
