Soccer

This is our first year playing soccer. We have had two great games and Ward is helping coach which in itself is pretty funny to see. But what has blown me away are the parents. Ok, these are 3 and 4 year olds that basically swarm around the ball and just kick until they hopefully come in contact with the ball. But you would think that we were in the play-offs for the World Cup. Lucky for us most of our team mates are friends and we all are laid back and realize - these are 3 and 4 year old. But in the last two games the other team has included parents that think it is do or die. On Saturday we had on guy who stood at their goal and screamed the entire time at his little girl -"Ok, get that ball down here" - "You take that ball away from her/him" And then sometimes he would just scream. Funny thing was the little girl would rather do somersaults in the middle of the field than chase the ball. Anyway, I can see where the reports of fights between parents occur. I am just thankful that the kids are oblivious. These are a few pictures of the hornets from some of the games and practice. On Saturday Gage scored a goal, he was so proud (lucky for us it was on the correct goal). Davis thinks he is part of the team and loves to play during practice. He would love to play during the game too but we have told him he has to help Ward coach. Grandma and Fred cheered on the team on saturday.
