Honestly....True Honesty, so before you decide on THREE!

ok, I will admit that a lot of this holds true in our household. I would say well over 1/2. Another mommy of 3 sent it to me. I laughed out loud I hope you will too! I added my own comments, of course....

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes. Do they make regular clothes??

Preparing for the Birth:
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month. (although from the 1st pregnancy I looked for the at home epidural when I went to buy the at home pregnancy test)

The Layette:
1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest Stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they? (actually Tru only wears onezies, we sold everything else to start his college fund)

Worries:
1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing. (A 5 & a 3 year old together make an 8 year old - an 8 year old can babysit right?)

Pacifier:
1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's
bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in. (Sorry lesson learned, no paci, I will pay for the dental work later, I refuse sleepless nights when babe sleeps thru without feeding but wakes up looking for paci)

Diapering:
1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees. (This can not be more true, 'nough said)

Activities:
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, Baby Zoo, Baby Movies and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the Dry cleaners. (no, three is too hard to tote, I order everything online & who needs dry cleaning anyway)

Going Out:
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd Baby: You leave Instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood. (and only come home a good hour after she has confirmed everyone is asleep)

At Home:
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't
squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children (as I am doing now)

Swallowing Coins (a favorite):
1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass.
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance! (no, he just has to wear that diaper a little longer)

Just Lovin' the Bumbo

There are some stages that I LOVE with my little ones.

And there are some that I do not love so much.

Such as when the little one starts eating baby food.

I mean really - at this point I could not take him out and hose him off "what would the neighbors think???"

But thank the Heavens for the BUMBO! Who knew - The Bumbo floats!

And while there is a warning not to place the bumbo on elevated surfaces, there is NOT a warning such as "not for use as a life preserver". Don't get me wrong, I would never use it to save someone who was drowning - but maybe it should have a warning... Like the preparation H tube that states "not for oral use".
Ya just never know.

Fireworks and Friends Galore

What a wonderful 4th of July weekend we had. We spent the entire 3 day weekend celebrating with friends and fireworks.

We started off by heading to a Grizzly baseball game on Thursday night. This is a baseball league made up of college aged kids, faces we are sure to see in the minors soon. The boys had a blast running up and down in front of the stands, hanging out by the dugout (no wait that was me at the dugout, hahah). There was a fantastic fireworks display after the game and then the boys got to run the bases and get players autographs. It was a late night but such a blast.

Chizzel videos the crowd with Davis at his heels.

We spent 4th of July at the pool playing with friends and then headed to the Callicutts for dinner and fireworks. It was fun to see my husband with 2 of his buddies running around setting off (illegal) fireworks. I say illegal because our state does not allow personal fireworks aside from smoke bombs and sparklers. But our neighbor state is only 10 miles away so we make a run there to purchase. I get a kick out of my rule follower hubby breakin' the law!

We only had one mishap this year. A roman candle that shot out at us rather than into the sky. But everyone took cover and it put a new slant on the roman candle.

Would my bumm....

look this good with a monster face on it??? Well, uh no. But for a baby I just find it totally cute! This is from one of my favorite organic lines of clothing. They are soft and wash so well.
And are well, just so gosh darn cute.

We're Movin' On Up....

Has parenthood made me crazy? I do believe so. A week or so ago we attended a birthday party for some dear friends of the boys. Two of the cutest gals shared their 5th birthday with family and friends by the pool. We had a great time snacking on PB&J and fabulous birthday cake. But when it was time to leave the party we did not have then normal post party breakdown of "no, 5 more minutes Mommy" or "I don't wanna go yet"
Why you ask? Well because each child was taking home a fish bowl.
Yes, a fish bowl.
Complete with a fish.
seriously,
a fish.
So that makes 2 for our house. (Tru is too young to care for an animal)
The boys were so excited.
Peanut Butter & Jelly made it safely home & managed to live thru the night.
Then thru the next week.
SO Ward and I started to feel a little sad for these fish that were swimming around in these bowls.

So in true Jefferson Fashion
We're movin' on up ---
While the boys were away this weekend the new fish condo was purchased.

Peanut Butter & Jelly have been swimming in a posh tank complete with a treasure chest and plants.
But the story does not end there, no..
Gage and Davis felt the fish needed friends so off we went this am, to purchase "friends".
Now each family member has a fish and we also have 2 frogs.
Ahhhh, our tank is complete.
